Cabra - Naomh Fionnbarra - Community Memorial Wall
Naomh Fionnbarra in conjunction with the Cabra Historical Society and Dublin City Council are initiating a community historical project. This historical project will be represented by a memorial wall which will celebrate the lives of those that lived in the community. It will be located on the site of the old playground which was at the centre of the Cabra community since its foundation in the 1930s.
This project is also being run as a fundraiser for Naomh Fionnbarra GAA Club, who have been at the core of the Cabra community since its inception over 75 years ago. Volunteer lead, the club has endeavoured to provide sports and Irish culture to those young and old through good times and bad, culminating in this proud community which we all come from.
The project consists of a ‘BUY A BRICK’ concept which contains the name, address, year of birth and year of passing of the people who lived in the area. This will be set on the main wall beside the Naomh Fionnbarra clubhouse’s main entrance.
Create Your Brick
Please note this is purely a visual representation of the brick, for an exact replica please see below. You will not be permitted to add any additional memorial material to the wall.
The brick is made of Arklow Red Granite with black speckle, it will contain a gold inscription of the person’s details and is 3 inches x 9 inches in size. This colour was carefully chosen to represent the brick colour of the houses built in the area 80 years ago. The top line will have a character limit of 19 letters, the middle line is limited to YYYY-YYYY and the bottom line is limited to 20 letters.
